Closing Campus
During inclement weather, Kent State
University at Trumbull will take every
step possible to determine safe driving
conditions for its students. However,
please note that unlike local school
districts which are dependent on the
safety of school bus transportation,
college campuses use different criteria
for canceling classes.
In the event that a class at KSU at Trumbull is to be canceled due to weather or emergency, university policy specifies that notification of such closing occurs as follows:
-
Morning classes beginning before noon are canceled by 5:45 a.m.
-
Afternoon classes beginning after noon and before 4:15 p.m. are canceled by 10 a.m.
-
Evening classes beginning after 4:15 p.m. are canceled by 3 p.m.
Assessing Weather Conditions
We encourage students with serious health conditions, unreliable transportation or those coming from remote areas or poor road conditions to assess their own situation and make their own decision. If you find it unsafe to travel to campus, please contact your professors to let them know that you are unable to attend class due to the weather. You should be aware of our individual professor's policies regarding class attendance.
